Heartbeat Heroes was created by Samantha Sterling, a high school student who was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome as an infant. WPW is a rare heart disease that causes a rapid heartbeat, known as an arrhythmia. WPW is one of many heart conditions that children can be diagnosed with and if treated, have a normal life expectancy. This website was designed to bring resources to students, educators, and parents about heart disease in an effort to create awareness and save lives.
